To develop a skill set that we can apply in real time, 3 things must be done.

 Perform

To learn how any move or technique works, we must first PRACTICE the steps in order to understand how the body mechanics work and to understand the sequence of order.

Once the steps have been understood, then we need to TRAIN them with repetition to get the brain and muscle memory working together. It is ideal to do this with a cooperative training partner who gives good feedback of movement to get the maximum benefits of the memories.

After your body and brain have familiarity with the movements from training them and have developed a sense of feel and correct body mechanics, we can now PERFORM and apply the technique under resistance and pressure testing.
This is the ultimate time to fine-tune and correct all the small details and make adjustments to suit your body.

When all these 3 are done in conjunction with each other on a consistent level – eventually your body develops natural reactions and learns to adapt to come out with the ultimate goal… to have a skillset that reacts instinctively no matter what someone does.
