This covers the basics for the lead straight/ jab. The jab is a very important tool in boxing; It is 70% of the boxing punch. It is used for entry; for setting up other punches; for distance management ( a measuring stick) AKA measuring your opponent. The jab can be used to the head, to the body and to the shoulders. It is used to keep the opponent offset; it is used to position yourself for the rear hand. It is important to keep the jab straight and non telegraphic. There are a number of ways you can use the jab, I cover a few of them in this clip.
